GENERAL COMMENTS

"When I was first told that we would be test driving a PT Cruiser, I had no clue what type of car it was. I was actually disappointed when I saw the car! But the test drive won me over! It was such a smooth ride and handled wonderfully! What a pleasant surprise! And I found that it's about the same length as the Jeep Cherokee Sport, so it doesn't take up alot of space in the garage. The only negative comment I have is that it doesn't seem to get the gas mileage it claims - I would say probably about 17-21 mpg!"

"I am a tall guy and this car is PERFECT! It has lots of room in the front and has the most comfortable cabin I have ever been in. The turbo is very peppy and it handles well. I am very pleased with how this has turned out. I traded in a 2003 Subaru Baja and it's NIGHT and DAY in terms of COMFORT, headroom, performance, etc. I would give this car a 10 out of 10. 220 HP is plenty for me."

"I bought a 2005 PT Cruiser TURBO new back in 2005 and just traded it in for a Subaru Forester. I think the PT Cruiser was a very comfortable driving car with plenty of get up and go. I NEVER once had it in the shop so it had a GREAT reliability record. My only complaint was that the turning ratio was VERY bad, for a small car you need a football field to turn it around in. The other problem I had was with the fit and finish, one day while driing down the road the passenger visor just fell off onto the floor. The passenger seat is supposed to fold down flat to form a desk but it really never folded flat and had so much of an angle that your paperwork slides off. All in all it was not an expensive car to drive or own and the get up and go of the TURBO is really good. Didn't feel stable at speeds over 85 MPG, the steering wheel would shake and the car felt like it wasn't in good contact with the road at very high speeds."

"Mine has over 34,000 miles on it and other than oil changes i've had no issues with car. still original brakes and tires.great car"

"Having owned an '03 PT (which our son now drives), we were ready to buy again. The '03 was a 5-speed which we loved; the '05 is automatic which is more convenient but with much lower performance. All in all we love the car. BUT... Chrysler has had a few years to work out the 'bugs' on this thing so why, when I'm driving what is essentially a 4 cyl Neon with a different body, is my milage so lousy!?!? I'm LUCKY to hit 20 mph in town driving like an old lady! On the highway I seldom do better than MAYBE 24mph! These days that's ridiculous. Especially when there's a new 'PT Wannabe' by Chevy that's rated at 35 hwy! I do thank heaven I bought last years, though, as the new front end has ruined the entire aggressive look that made the car special. You blew that one, guys!!!!"
Adrian , Michigan - February, 2006

GENERAL LIKES

"Roominess and comfort as both driver and passenger." "Comfort and headroom." "Turbo, leather seats, heated seats, headroom" "Retro styling" "The look; the seat position (you don't sit DOWN or climb up, you just slide in like a barstool); the price"

GENERAL DISLIKES

"The look! Honestly!" "Wish it were a little roomier in the back." "Turning ratio was VERY BAD, for a small car it requires a huge circle to turn around , trade in value was TERRIBLE, they depreciate badly! If you really want one, buy a gently used model, because the depreciation will KILL YOU!" "Rear power window switches on floor console" "MILAGE!!!"
