Mechanically, the 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is endowed with a 520-horsepower, 5.0-liter V10 engine. That translates to more than 100 hp per liter and a power-to-weight ratio of a startling 6.7 pounds per horsepower. Add in the car’s maximum torque peak of 510 pound-feet at 4,250 rpm (redline is a heart-racing 8,100 rpm), with 340 lb.-ft. of that twist underfoot at just 1,500 rpm. Imagine Secretariat towing a toy wagon and you get the idea of the Gallardo Spyder’s power. According to Lamborghini, the Gallardo Spyder manages a top speed of 195 mph and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds.
